The Beijing-Shanghai Railway goes through Zhenjiang from west to east. The Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway, National Highways 312 and 104, highways along the Yangtze River all pass through Zhenjiang. The Yangtze River Bridge between Zhenjiang and Yangzhou is being constructed. The Yangtze River and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal cross here at Zhenjiang, constituting the largest water system in China. Nanjing Lukou International Airport and Shanghai pudong International Airport are merely 80 and 250 kilometers away from Zhenjiang respectively.

Main Industries, like chemical, paper making, electronic and building materials, are under rapid development. The scales, qualities and technical contents of such products as engineering plastics, acetic, titanium white, high-grade paper for industrial & cultural use, DVD and TV sets are listed at the leading place in domestic congener products. Key products, such as automotive components, road machines, engineering machines, engineering electrical devices, special-type shipping, hardware tools, bearing, lens, bicycles, Aluminous products and vinegar seasoning, all have wide markets.
